Ozzie's Planet proudly presents My Yearbook 2003

Best Book:
"More, Now, Again" by Elizabeth Wurtzel - even better than "Prozac Nation". I think everyone dealing with drugaddicts or selfdestructive people should read "More..." cause it's amazing.
Best CD:
"Bananas" by Deep Purple - couldn't stop listening to it.
Best Concert:
Deep Purple at the Arrow Classic Rock Festival in Holland. I cried all the way thru the concert and when Gillan sang the new ballad, "Haunted" I was sure I would die. Still, it's the best concert this year.
Best Single:
If "In The Getto" with Spearfish & Nicky Moore would have been released as a single it would have been it. Another single I've actually bought is Pink's "Just Like a Pill" - brilliant lyrics.
On the TV:
Last episode of Bevery Hills 90210 finally aired in Sweden, only sad was the production... Glad it's gone before thay dragged it even further down, if it would be possible. I rather remember Dylan & Brenda the way they were... Last episodes of Dawson Creek was aired too, they knew how to end it! Still ob top!! Brilliant!
The Sexiest Man:
John Sykes on stage in London.
Best Moment:
I don't care what anyone says, John Sykes playing the piano to me on my birthday is the best moment of this decade...
Worst Moment:
I think being left alone at a festival-site in nowhere (Lichtenvoorde) Holland was the most frightening ever. I had no clue whatsoever on how to get back to Amsterdam.
Awesome Internet Experience:
I finally got hooked on chatting.... :-) and it paid off so now I won't have to do it again!!
Best Gig:
John Sykes' Thin Lizzy at Astoria in London. Sykesy owned the audience from beginning to end and I have never seen him play better. Wish he could make himself play just as good in Stockholm.
Best Record Sleeve:
I know which booklet that will not win the prize... But I shall be nice to my friends and not mention Turning Leaf... So, best recordsleeve probably is the cover of one of the Lizzy-boots I've achived during the year...
Drink of the Year:
Jack Daniel's and coke with John Sykes and the Lizzy-crew
Best Movie:
"The Hours" with Meryl Streep - it took me forever to get around to see it, but I loved it. Loved the part where she tells her daughter that she at one point in life could feel happiness and that she knew, it was now it'll come, hapiness, it'd start now... only later she realised that the happiness she felt right then was IT - instead of waiting for more she should have enjoyed it while it lasted.
Eyes of The Year:
I'll put my own here as I now have lences and can see without my glasses!! Hahaha!
Best Ian Gillan Tune of The Year:
"Haunted" from the new Deep Purple album "Bananas"
The Place of The Year:
Amsterdam. After a miserable festival and being up 24h (spending the nightat a reailway-stop, not even a stationbuilding) my new friend Peter showed me Amsterdam - including the Red Light District in the morning (it was so cute - everything in Amsterdam was cute) - I'm sure I'd be shocked if I came back at night!! 3 JD&coke later at the Hard Rock Café I'd decided to move to Amsterdam and live in one of those pretty houses near the canale and work at HRC... actually, several weeks afterwards I was doing my best to be able to at least work in Amsterdam for a few months...
Best Metal Club:
helgon.net - there's just nowhere else to go
Nicest Person:
I'm glad to say it's been a few. It's a tough choice. Perhaps the people at work actually meant the most to me as I've seen them every day and coming from a horrible office to where I am today really did mean a lot.
But then there's Marc R who really went out of his way for me. And Peter W whom made sure I even got to the check-in on time at Shipihol - and Johannes who arranged a new transport after missing my flight and arriving 12 hours later... There's been nice people everywhere!!! It's a very radical change.
Asshole of 2003:
Peter Fisher of Arrow Festival of course, but naturally also a few other men and women.
To summarize:
After a year of recovery 2003 turned out to be a really interesting year. I have spent some time in Norway and Denmark. I've meet new friends and spent time with old friends. I've entered the dating-market again and ended up with quite a catch. However I wasn't the one fishing. The opposite actually, I'd decided I liked the dating-thing, no strings attached, "see you when I see you" and that kinda life.
But that didn't last long and after a few months I gave up and said "let's try" and there we are, right now... We're trying!!
In 2003 I've been around a lot, Norway (Halden, Oslo), Denmark, London, Amsterdam, Germany, around Sweden...
I've had fun this year and I have a feeling it won't stop either...
Final words:
I've learned to take time to enjoy things while they're happening instead of waiting for the good things to end and be angry and bitter all the time. You never know what happends next and if you only see the bad things, then it's the bad things you'll experience.
