Yesterday I had my 5th yoga lesson and the first with a new teacher.
I have understood as much as that the yoga I do on Tuesday mornings are something called Hatha yoga. It's slow paced and focused on the breathing. Perfect way to start the morning. Last Thursday I went to an evening class. Same teacher and all though it wasn't as slow (and not as relaxed, mainly becuase of a couple of teenages and a parent talking their way thru the class) it was nothing compared to the class I accidentally took last night.
The teacher had other engagements so another teacher stepped in, she was young and slim and looked like something off a fashion magazine. It was something else completly.
Power yoga, I quickly learned, is something very different from Hatha yoga. I was sure I'd die halfway thru it, sweating floods. But still, it was fantastic.
I am hooked.
Reading about yoga I can see it's really something for me.
I used to wake up every morning at 4 am, not being able to sleep again. Now I even sleep thru the alarm! I feel happy. Yesterday there was some shit at work and I got really upset but at lunch I took a very quick 10 mins power walk concentrating on my breathing and came back to the meeting calm. Very good.
I am taking another Power Yoga class this afternoon!
